We were blessed to get the last room at The View Motel the Saturday we visited Galena. When we pulled in at
dusk, several guests were seated around the fire pit, and we were warmly welcomed to the conversation. It was
a great evening--and then we saw our room. Very nice! Clean, spacious, a great bed, a good price...and a solid
night's sleep. Who could ask for more? The warm welcome we received from our hosts made us feel as though
we'd been part of the family for years--a unique experience for sure. We would recommend The View Motel
to everyone. |

The owners of this hidden gem made our stay in the Galena area a delightful experience. The owners, Andy and
Joyce went out of their way to make everyone feel at home at this adorable little roadside motel. Room was
really nice and clean, the shower was great, strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. Was like having a
message. The highlight of the stay is the evening fireside visit with the owners and other guests. Wonderful
setting with an unbelievable view. We can't wait until our next trip to the area, will will always stay
here and recommend it to everyone visiting the area.

What a gem we found for a place to stay. The View Motel was perfect. The outside is so appealing and neat
with a fire pit for relaxing and visiting with other guests. I’m sorry the weather wasn’t cooperating the
weekend we stayed, so we’ll have to get that fire pit going next time! The rooms were spacious and very
clean and comfortable. Our weekend plans were to visit Galena for a couple of days and this motel was just
the perfect location. It is only about a 10 minute drive to Galena…very convenient. It is also a quick
drive to Chestnut Mountain where we picked up the Mississippi River Cruise.
The owners, Andy and Joyce were
so gracious and cheerful and made us feel welcome and right at home. They also gave us great tips for places
to eat. The microwave and refrigerator in the community room were an unexpected and welcome bonus.
Without question, I wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else next trip to the Galena area.

Oct. 2009 Highly recommend this nice, clean motel. Reasonably priced and close to the Galena activity.
Joyce and Andy take pride in their motel and do everything they can to make your stay a happy one. You are
not a stranger from the moment you enter their door. We didn't get to enjoy the outdoor fire pit
because of the weather,hopefully we can do so on the next visit. Joyce and Andy are wonderful hosts and make
you feel right a home. The View is a great place to stay. |

Sept 2009- we came upon the hotel trying to find a place by Galena...and what a find it is! Andy and Joyce
were very nice people making you feel welcome as soon as you pulled in. The room was nice and clean and close
to everything the area has to offer. The nicest surprise is the evening "fire-side" gathering.
Andy/Joyce make a fire outside in the pit and invite all guests to come sit by the fire to talk and share
stories...and drink! (byob) But the "View" gets its name from the breath-taking sky that appears at
night! You have never seen so many stars in your life. We're definately coming back. Cheers! |

We stopped at The View Motel in Elizabeth,IL. It is a small motel with a beautiful view across the
countryside. They have chairs set up at the end of the motel for patrons to enjoy the countryside. In
addition, at night they have a fire pit and chair set outside so that guests can come down, enjoy
conversation, bring food and drinks, and just enjoy themselves. The motel has been completely redone by Andy
and Joyce, the owners, and it is a comfortable and an attractively decorated place to stay. It is within a
short driving distance of Galena, IL and many stay here and go out to Galena, and other scenic sites in the
nearby area. |
